He was born a pauper to a pawner
I ran into Steve the Physio the other day after emerging out of the seventh level of hell AKA a Urologist's waiting room after a nice 45 minute wait surrounded by old men making disgusting noises that I swear to GOD only old men can make. Love for the joys of being a paraplegic. WHY a routine ultrasound of my kidneys (to make sure everything is humming along as I can't feel if there is a ninja star lodged in one) requires an effing consult is beyond me. All I know is that I got to experience something no 22 yr old woman SHOULD EVER HAVE TO EXPERIENCE. That's right. 45 minutes in the Urologist's waiting room surrounded by digusting old men waiting to be told they have prostate cancer making disgusting old man noises. UGH.

More to the point of my story. Steve the Physio comes zipping around the side of my car on a skateboard (Who is this guy?) and while I'm thinking pretty much that exact thought (not much 'boarding goes on around Vancouver General) he's all 'HEY!' and I'm all 'HEY!'. So we went for coffee to catch up and turns out he's moving to the Garden of Eden, I mean, just past Coldstream outside of Vernon on Hwy 6. None of you know where this is, but believe me, it is probably the most beautiful spot (in my humble opinion) in BC. I WANTED TO LIVE THERE!!!! I would probably secretly be hating Steve and his wife right now were it not for the fact that their daughter is quite possibly the cutest child I have ever seen. And I am IMMUNE TO CUTE CHILDREN. She was with us at coffee and no less than like three people stopped and started talking to her/us including one woman who I think wanted to steal Brynn but I totally could have taken her out. Seriously, they broke the mold on that child. SO CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE. What is happening to me. Am I getting old? Is this what happens?? ACK!

It's been 'reading break' at SFU this week. Of course they don't actually give us a whole WEEK, that would be extravagant to the max. So it was more of a "Here's two days, don't hang yourself, maybe just cut yourself a wee bit instead" reading break. Oddly enough, I really enjoyed not having class for those two days. If only because I got to watch FIGURE SKATING! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! How I loves my figure skating.

Team Canada is out of men's hockey. I had the game on in the 'background' of me studying earlier, which meant that I read the same line over and over and over while not actually devoting any attention to the game. I'm ridiculous. Here's the odd part: When they lost, I kind of felt like laughing. WTF? Normally I am pretty much weeping with joy/despair regarding anything to do with the Olympics (they get me RIGHT THERE) but today I was all "Huh. Serves you right for leaving SID THE KID behind!" which, what? I don't give a crap about Sidney Crosby, but that was pretty much my first thought, followed closely by "Wayne Gretzy should never speak without a script". That guy. I tell you.

I was way more into the ice dancing drama than I should admit. And the men's speed skating actually caused my roommate and I to speak to each other. But I've missed the ladies skating proper these last couple of days, which makes me sad. And I haven't seen a single round of curling!

And they say Americans don't watch the Olympics...

But curling? You kinda lost me there....

It's more a curiosity, because I've never watched it in my whole life.

ok well that curiosity will abate in about 2.2 seconds as you realize that curling is pretty much shuffleboard on ice, albeit with more yelling.

However, in the event that you end up watching it late at night, maybe drunk, or better yet high, it will seem like the most amazing game EVER.

well, considering I've never been high, and can count on my fingers the amount of times I've been really drunk.... I still think Curling is awesome to watch. But then, 90% of the times I've watched curling it involved an entire wheelchair basketball team on the sidelines of the curling rink, yelling, doing soccer chants and ringing a cowbell.... ahhhh. Canada Winter Games memories. We once got kicked out of a curling club for cheering "rudely" for the BC guys against the ontario team. Proudest moment of my life, [sniff!]

I loved the lithuanian team too - I was trying to write a paper at the time but got distracted. they were the only really non-freakish couple, and their dance was the best. WTF? I noticed that the canadian team (the one that didn't fall on her hip!) was pretty good too, no falls, lots of beautiful moves, didn't even make the final. What is this? I thought they said the block judging was over....

Feck Sidney Crosby. The guy is good and will be great in time for 2010, but he's not Olympic level yet. Comparing him to Ovechkin is apples and Bananas. Malkin is a better comparison, but unfair because Russia's depth isn't as good as ours.

We suffered from several hits to defence and sub-par performances from our veterans. It was sad really. I reckon Staal and Spezza could have contributed a lot better, I personally would have picked Staal over Nash and tried to find a way of fitting Spezza in, but that's just me. And I wouldn't have liked to not lose two elite defencemen.

But yeah, hopefully we'll be better in time for 2010. By that time I'll hopefully be playing for the Canucks, so I'll make Team Canada and beat the shyad out of any Russian except for Maxim Afinogenov, coz me and my mate Antony adopted him.

so funny... I can relate on the urology consult ridiculousness... I swear this system is set up to use the maximum time from the maximum people at the maximum cost... but hey, at least we don't have to pay for it. I hate that particular waiting room, was it the one with the foot-high sign that says "UBC Prostate Centre" on the wall above the chairs? I always get stared at when I'm there. I usually just get my GP to refer me to a community ultrasound clinic now - faster, cheaper, less embarassing (only now everyone thinks I've got a "bun in the oven" when I say I'm going for an ultrasound...)

Unlike Viagra, http://forums.ugo.com/member.php?u=45199 - Cialis is good for up to 36 hours after it's taken - adding spontanaeity.

Is this a good thing? What do you think?

Wanna know the secret to being a superlover? http://scottishlists.com/generic_viagra.html - Viagra.
A lot of people don't realize that young people are using Viagra too for the extra advantage in bed.

What do you think about this trend?
